Tyger Mountain and Tyger Georgia

Tiger, Rabun County, Georgia, has a population of 316. Originally, the town name was spelled Tyger. 

That name came from the cry of roaming panthers. The early British explorers, including Bertram, called the panthers 'tygers'.
