Artisan, (ˈɑːtɪˌzæn; ˌɑːtɪˈzæn), n, a skilled workman; craftsman
An artisan is somebody who conceives a project, designs it, and puts it together. In a romantic sense, an artisan is someone who works with the hands, head and heart. Quite the opposite of the factory mass production worker.
The artisan’s products are handmade and individually unique. They are meant to be appreciated over time, often lasting for generations.
Increasingly, consumers are turning away from mass-produced products, seeking instead handmades, and one-of-a-kinds. More and more, it is all about where something comes from, who produced it, under what conditions it was made. There is a bond, trust, between the artisan and the customer.
