Everybody loves a fish, and everybody loves a fisherman. I am inspired by the uncompromising honesty of a fish, and an element of that truth is embodied in my work.
Serene and bold, these shapes can absolutely transform the atmosphere of a corporate office, business lobby, home entry, great room, or man-cave. It is as if the natural environment has come indoors, made its quiet presence known, and in the bargain made one feel at home. One client bought one of my tarpons for her daughter’s room because it spoke to her of tremendous peace and tranquility.
Sculpted trophies are particularly appealing to people who want a trophy fish to hang on the wall but do not want to kill a fish. If you want to avoid the ‘taxidermy look’, and are tired of the vacant stare that comes from the ubiquitous machine-made plastic and fiberglass trophies, then this is the artistic trophy for you.
I focus on the special body shapes of tarpon, redfish, permit, and bonefish.
All of my fish are made of wood and architectural resin or light-weight concrete, hand sculpted, and hand painted.
