Come Fish or EcoTour With Me
Apalachicola is a naturalist's paradise.  I live in a very small town in very rural Franklin County Florida. In fact, we have only one stoplight in the entire County!

This is Old Florida, the kind of Florida that most people never see.
This is Florida's Forgotten Coast.

We have water, marsh, and woods- not malls, golf courses, and subdivisions.  We like it that way.  But we also welcome visitors who share our passion for nature, peace, and quiet.

One of the reasons this place is so fantastic is that 85% of Frankin County will never be developed.  The beauty and wildlife bounty of Old Florida will always thrive in Apalachicola National Forest, St. Vincent Wildlife Refuge, Apalachicoa Estuarial Preserve, and Tate's Hell State Park.

Our fishing, birding, and nature habitat is outstanding!

April to December

As the water warms and baitfish move in, the redfish, spotted seatrout, tarpon, follow.

I use artifical lures to fish the shallow water of marshes, creeks, and flats.  A bonus to our fishing is all the wildlife encounter one can expect to witness on any given day.

Myriad other fish can show up at any time: pompano, bluefish, cobia, sharks, jack crevalle, spanish mackerel are the most common ones.

January to April

We have 4 seasons in Apalachicola, and winter days and nights can be cold during spells.  However, warm periods can be highly productive, and most any time redfish and seatrout can be found in creeks, rivers, and bayous.  Stripped bass can be found in selected river settings, and the fiesty shellcracker is almost always game for sport.

Outfitting

I have all  the fishing equipment you will need:  boat, rods, reels, lures, flies, and so on.  If you would like to bring your own gear, you are welcome to do so; however, my shallow-water boat is small and storage space is very limited.  You will not need a fishing license while you are fishing with me.

You will need to bring a small bag that contains your lunch and drinks, polarized sunglasses, sunblock, hat, raingear, and camera.  You must wear shoes that have non-marking soles, otherwise, you will have to remove them and fish in your socks.

Bring your favorite binocuars to use while we EcoTour or fish, or use a pair of mine if you would rather.
